In line with the Champagne tradition, the House owns and cultivates a vineyard of 75 hectares in the Marne and Aube departments. Since December 2015, the vineyards boast the “Sustainable Viticulture” label with "HVE” (High Environmental Value).
Protection of the environment, respect for biodiversity and sustainable vineyard management are central to the House’s operations. An ambitious program of reasoned practices - 100 in all- represents the core of its daily work.

In order to preserve the environment, the House resorts to organic fertilisers, true to organic viticultural practices,
respectful of the environment and soil life.
RECYCLING
The House acts daily for the revalorization of the totality of its wastes. The House acts daily for the revalorization of all its waste. Wastes from our production and residues from pressing (skins, seeds, stems) are recycled, converted from waste to energy or sent to distilleries.
Preserve Biodiversity
The totality of the Charles Heidsieck vineyards practice sexual confusion, or mating disruption, replace metal stakes with wooden ones and have installed eight beehives.
ZERO INSECTICIDE ZERO HERBICIDE
In order to protect our soils, flora and fauna, Charles Heidsieck does not use any insecticide or pesticide. The House encourages its viticultural partners to adopt reasoned practices.

By 2030, the House wants to be certified 100% Sustainable Viticulture, With our partners’ support, as we encourage them to apply sound environmental practices in their operations using a program of corrective actions.
