The 2017 vintage signals the latest iteration of Charles Heidsieck's 100% Chardonnay cuvée, called Blanc des Millénaires. Two varieties compose it: chardonnay and time.
Born from a remarkable year, this vintage is the result of 7 years of anticipation and harmonious ageing in the thousand-year-old Crayères, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
AN EXTRAORDINARY SENSORY COMPOSITION
Rather than typifying a style, Blanc des Millénaires 2017 is more of a signature, an emotion that one feels. The cuvée demonstrates the art of blending the finest, purest terroirs. Just five villages, one Premier Cru and four Grands Crus make up this champagne: Vertus, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize and Chouilly.
Selected for their ability to develop and fully express their organoleptic opulence once mature, they create an extraordinary sensory composition.

to the eye
The hue displayed is a pale gold with beautiful radiance.
on the nose
The first impression is pastry-like and creamy, unveiling notes of toasted brioche, butter and shortcrust pastry, lending an elegant indulgence. It gradually opens to hints of fresh and roasted hazelnut, flaked almond, Bourdaloue tart and finally to floral nuances such as violet and dried white flowers.
on the palate
The texture is silky and creamy, evoking the delicacy of lace. The opening is refreshing and elegant. The remarkable length on the palate is carried by a touch of salinity and a chalk minerality, characteristic of the great chardonnays of the Côte des Blancs.

OF A LEGENDARY CUVÉE
Since then, ten cuvées have seen the light of day: 1983, 1985, 1990, 1995, 1996, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2014 and 2017.
These cuvées are truly exceptional, as they are made up solely of wines from the same year. These years are recognized as extraordinary by our cellar masters and selected with extreme care for their unusual maturation capacities.
